About the Podcast

The Justice Edit features lawyers, judges, academics, and advocates working at the forefront of global justice.

Drawing on more than two decades of journalistic experience covering justice, climate and geopolitics, host Evelyn McClafferty explores the forces shaping the rule of law around the world. Through in-depth conversations with leading experts, the podcast examines international justice, war crimes, accountability, human rights, and the legal and political challenges facing democratic societies.

Guests have included international criminal and human rights lawyer Aonghus Kelly , human rights lawyer Darragh Mackin on the legacy of the Troubles , Amnesty Tech's Alia Al Ghussain, and Professor Ray Murphy of the Irish Centre for Human Rights.

Episodes have explored Ukraine's pursuit of accountability following Russia's full-scale invasion; the human rights impacts of climate change and extractivism; the role of technology companies in enabling harm and misinformation; and the complex legal questions arising from conflicts, including Gaza. The podcast also examines how international courts operate, the challenges they face, and what those challenges mean for justice worldwide.

At its heart, The Justice Edit connects complex international issues to the everyday realities that shape all of our lives, making global justice accessible, relevant and engaging for a broad audience.

A new episode is released every two months.
